Billing data

Anthropic

Pull your billed Anthropic spend into Lineman, so the figure in the dashboard can be reconciled against the invoice rather than compared with it by hand.

This integration is not generally available yet. It is limited to Lineman staff while the credential handling is reviewed - see the note below on why that review is taking its time.

Why connect it

Lineman measures what your sessions consume. Anthropic bills what your organisation consumed, which includes usage Lineman never saw: other tools, other people, the console. Connecting the two turns the dashboard from an estimate into a reconciliation.

The gap between the two numbers is usually the interesting part. It is where unattributed spend lives, and finding it is often worth more than the saving on the spend you already knew about.

The credential, and why this is careful

Anthropic's billing data is only reachable with a Console admin key, and Anthropic does not currently offer a way to scope that key down to billing alone. A key that can read your invoice can also do everything else an admin can.

That is the whole reason this integration is still behind a flag rather than shipped. We are not comfortable asking customers for an unscoped admin key as a routine setup step, and we would rather wait for a narrower credential than normalise handing over a broad one.

Reading the result

Once connected, billed cost appears beside measured cost for the same period. Expect them to differ: they are counting different things over slightly different clocks, and a small persistent gap is normal rather than a fault.
