Cost platform

Usage and savings

The short answer to what Lineman did for you: how much it processed, how much it saved, and what that left you paying.

What the page shows

Your allowance and how much of it is used, the tokens Lineman handled on your behalf, and the saving that produced against what the work would have cost without it.

Everything is scoped to your current billing period, not the calendar month, so it matches the invoice rather than the diary.

How the saving is worked out

Lineman compares what your session actually consumed against what the same work would have consumed uncompressed. The difference is the saving. It is measured per operation and summed, not estimated from a headline ratio.

Where a saving cannot be attributed honestly it is not counted. The number is deliberately conservative, because a savings figure nobody believes is worth less than a smaller one they do.

Allowance and what happens at the edge

The allowance is how much Lineman will process for you each month, pooled across your team. Running out does not stop your work - it stops the compression, so sessions carry on at full cost until the allowance resets or you top up.
