Sign-in and security

How you get into Lineman, and how to make that harder for anyone who is not you.

Password

Change it from your settings at any time. Changing a password does not sign out your other devices on its own, so if the reason you are changing it is that a device was lost, review your devices as well.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication asks for a code from your phone as well as your password. It is the single most effective thing you can turn on here, and it takes about a minute.

You are given recovery codes when you enable it. Store them somewhere that is not the phone holding the authenticator, or losing that phone locks you out of your own account.

Devices and sessions

The machines currently signed in as you. Anything you do not recognise should be signed out, and that is also the right first move if a laptop goes missing.

Signing out a browser session does not revoke a command-line token. If a machine had Lineman installed, rotate your CLI token too.
