Deliver alerts into a Rocket.Chat channel.
Your Lineman spend alerts post into a Rocket.Chat channel as they fire. They are the same alerts you already get by email, rendered for Rocket.Chat through its Slack-compatible incoming webhook. Connecting takes one webhook URL and a Test button: there is no app to install and nothing to add to your Rocket.Chat server. Rocket.Chat
You pick the channel when you create the incoming webhook in Rocket.Chat, which needs admin rights on the server. Paste the URL into Lineman and press Test: that sends a real alert to the channel. Open the channel and look at it, because Rocket.Chat's Slack compatibility is the least complete of the four chat platforms Lineman supports and varies between server versions.
Self-hosting is the normal case for Rocket.Chat, so Lineman does not restrict which host the webhook URL lives on. Your own domain is accepted. The URL has to start with https://, and the hostname has to resolve from the public internet, because alerts are sent from Lineman's servers. Private and internal addresses are refused at save time.
Destinations are independent. A Rocket.Chat failure does not stop your other chat platforms or your email alerts. A failed delivery is stamped against the integration and shown on its page in the dashboard, along with what your server returned.
