Deliver alerts into Mattermost, self-hosted or cloud.
AI coding spend alerts land in a Mattermost channel, on Mattermost Cloud or on a server you host yourself. Lineman posts through an incoming webhook, so there is nothing to install on your server and no app to approve. You pick the channel in Mattermost when you create the webhook. Email alerts keep running alongside, so turning chat on does not turn anything else off.
Lineman does not restrict which host the webhook URL points at, so a Mattermost server on your own domain works the same way as Mattermost Cloud. Two things still have to hold. The URL has to start with https, and the server has to be reachable from the public internet: Lineman refuses to post to private or internal network addresses, so a hostname that only resolves inside your VPN never receives alerts.
The Test button posts a real message to your channel using the same payload a live alert uses, so a message arriving is proof the real thing will arrive too. A deleted webhook, a typo in the host, or a server the public internet cannot reach all fail during the test, in front of the person who pasted the URL.
Lineman builds the alert once and posts it to every destination, so a change to the alert wording reaches Mattermost at the same time as everywhere else. Mattermost renders Slack Block Kit natively, which is why the alert looks the same as the Slack one. Destinations are independent, so a broken Mattermost webhook does not stop the others and has no effect on email.
